We transformed a Russian dacha! A project by our company was to supply luxurious soft furnishings to a massive Dacha near Moscow.This isolated country house formerly used as a holiday residence by the Party Elite is still protected by the secret service. It was converted into a splendid hospitality facility by one of Russia’s new breed of highly successful businessmen.
Working under the direction of Interior Designer Charles Leon of Chiswick, we made up top class fabrics into curtains, blinds, textile walling and loose covers in record time to meet a shipping deadline.Our installation team led by Director Greg Kostin travelled to the still secret location to fit curtains, pelmets, drapes and roman blinds, to fix fabric walling and to make up some loose covers on site. 6 meters high, 20 meters wide with elaborate pelmets & several internal curtain sets. Ordered 8th November – Made & fitted by the 13th of December ready for the High Commissioners Christmas Ball. BEEFEATER RESTAURANT, BASINGSTOKE
Our fitter on the 40 ft ladder in the middle of the night
National restaurant chain called in ISF to stop customers from boiling over. This futuristic design with large exposed red painted steel beams and glass roof over the restaurant inhibited customers because the sun just baked them in their seats. We were asked for a solution and designed these festoon blind panels in a flame retardant semi sheer light weight metallised fabric ideal for this purpose. Every panel had to be shaped to the irregular window shape and installed 15m above the restaurant floor.
We surveyed the site, sowed the panels which were so large that they completely swamped our cutting tables and had to be assembled on the roof of our building. The task was then to install them above the restaurant internal pergola which could not be moved.
Our fitters had to work on extremely long ladders after the diners left the restaurant in the middle of the night to fit blind panels on Velcro within the roof spaces in very tricky circumstances. We made sure that this unique shading solution fitted and worked for years to come because there was only one chance to get it right.
